A baby born on the eclipse! I love getting to witn

A baby born on the eclipse! I love getting to witness the power and strength of mamas as they bring their babies into the world. It’s amazing and emotional every time. And to be there with families for multiple babies is such an honor for me. I feel deeply connected to my birthing families as they go through this powerful transition.

Side note: if you are worried about having another person in the room, or nervous about a camera “watching” you while you labor, most mamas, including this one, don’t even notice I’m there until after the baby is in their arms. I’m a quiet, unobtrusive, peaceful and encouraging presence.

Before & Afters: This is why I don’t give raw, unedited files. They aren’t finished. It’s like serving a raw chicken at a restaurant: you have the main ingredient, but not the finished, delightful, full-flavor experience that you are paying for and want to consume.
And I will say, that even what you see here is not the finished product. What you see here is like the seasoned chicken. Well flavored, but still not ready to consume.
The edited photo is meant to live in printed form, not in digital! It is meant to be hung on your wall to be enjoyed every day, or in an album to sit with your family on the couch and talk about your memories and experiences. That’s why it’s a part of my process to invite families to a special date night, look at all their photos (and video) together, and decide how they want to enjoy them...in printed form. Imagine this 2x2 inch image on your phone printed 30x40 inches in your home! It’s like comparing apples and oranges.
When you get photos taken, think about the full service that your photographer offers and the final product of how you want to enjoy them in your home.
